Belinda Henry is an abstract landscape artist based in New South Wales, Australia and has been painting professionally for over 20 years
Her home is surrounded by thousands of acres of national park from which she takes inspiration for her work. This landscape provides Belynda with a rich source of visual info, collected in daily sketches and photographs which she uses to create her surreal, colourful vistas.
“I don’t attempt to paint a clear representation of the area but take from everywhere. Then, back in my bush land studio, I reassemble the memories much like a jigsaw into a simplified and emotional interpretation of the beauty that surrounds me”.
- Belynda Henry
Although she paints predominantly landscape subjects, Belynda was a finalist in the Archibald prize for portraiture in 2016.
